Heater bypass Q

Think the heater matrix in my 89 Ram dayvan is split, as leaking from the dash area, the pipes upto the matrix are fine.

As a quick bodge to get me going again, is it ok to take the pipes off where they go into the matrix and join them together, thereby taking the matrix out of the (water) circuit?

Yes. Or just block off the outlets from the water pump.

Better off linking the heater pipes @ the pump , otherwise the water will have nowhere to circulate when the stat is shut.

Think that's what Dave meant to say.
