Philth has been chasing a knocking noise on his 400 engined Chally. He has now nailed it down as #6 big end. The bearing is knackered but hasn't spun. The conrod side is fine but the cap has ovalled. Is it possible to just change the cap or is it new conrod time? He puts the damage down to a mate at a wedding he used the car for revving it too hard while Philth was "observing" the fine exhaust note from the rear Luckily it looks like the crank has no damage 8)

Hi Dude, overrevving streches the bigend out of round. Do not re-use a strectched rod!!!! It can be re-sized but very unwise as it might fail altogether. I have a set of 400 rods if you need some. Best wishes Baccarudajon.
