I Have oil pressure

Post by GTXJim »

I had Baccaruda down at the weekend checking out the damage, fortunately the bearings and gaskets turned up on Thursday, so he cleaned and honed the block, polished the crank cleaned up the seats and a couple of exhaust valves pasigauged and fitted the crank then cam that was Friday then went for a couple of beers and a curry.
Saturday he checked over all the pistons and rods noticed i had lost the molly off a couple of top piston rings so they were file fitted and replaced pasigauged rod bearings and reassembled, all the bearings were polished with 1000 grit.
So it was just dial in the cam and finish assembly we decided to use just a single oil line system and checked it out and it primed up straight away loads of oil :thumbright:
So ever thing looked good changed all the burnt puhrods and broken lifter cleaned up the damaged rockers.
By this time it was early evening people were starting there BB Q's so decided to put the motor in the car so it was all hands on in it went even had 10psi oil cranking :thumbright: so fired it up WOW sounded amazing 60psi fantastic, trouble was it was too noisy in the garage so we decided to Bananarama! out into the ally,Just then my mother came in she didn't look to pleased she was in the house and heard this terrible noise it was 7.45 so that was that :( .
But all in all a really good weekend, I was going to take loads of pics but was so busy didn't have time. So big thanks to every one who helped out with the build and the advice :D

Really good news, Jim; well done :thumbright:

Not too expensive, then; could have been worse.
