chaos fuel altered crash at shaky

Post by the dodge »

i went to the open nationals at shaky on bank holiday monday, saw choas fuel altered crash, it did a complete 360 about 1/8 mile and then barrel rolled the rest of the way, no racing for about 2 hours, these are the only pictures ive seen of the incident (see link)
had a look at the car in the pits the body work is completely u/s not much damage to the chassis thou apart from the front wheels being ripped off!! one of the pit crew said they should have it back up and running for the national finals at pod end of sept,
i think the fuel altereds are supposed to be running at hrd

Simon was down in the fire-up lane with Nigel Turner's blue methanol rail when that happenned - he said the thing was coming straight for them - they were just about to leg it when it came down and hit the wall. Scary stuff. But at least driver is OK - you can rebuild cars but people aren't quite so easy...
There's an article on Eurodragster.com about it if anyone's interested. Altereds are notorious for being a handful to drive. I think when you get an accident like this it just reminds you how much respect you have to have for these machines, cos they can put your lights out in the blink of an eye. Much respect to the team and best of luck getting it back together.

 Looked bad enough on the dodgy clip. Looks a shocker on that one. Great footage, David. Hope they can straighten that out... :(
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…
