68 Charger door lock.

Having problems with my 68 Chargers drivers door lock, problems turning the key to lock it and pushing the button down to lock it. I had the door panel off few weeks ago to do some lubrication, didn't touch that area just lubed it.
Don't really want to take the door panel off again, as they get knackered.
Any body know what might be the problem with and if I can be fixed without the door panel coming off.

Could be the rod binding , if you don't wanna take the door card off maybe you can cut an access panel in the door skin.

I ended up fixing the card with stainles cups & screws , around 20 of em.

Wildmans charger has the same issues

outer window seals U/S both sides, soaks the whole door mechanism in water, then the bloody doors wont open

He usually brings it to me and it's a full day getting it all to work again

door cards off and plenty of good lube, oh and oil is no use at all, I use that black grease (forget the name) sticks like Bananarama! to a blanket and water wont Bananarama! off
