I went into Bolton today for some Xmas shopping after work and i had a late dinner in a cafe in one of the back streets that over looks a Car Park.
I had some great entertainment watching a load of Traffic Wardens backed up by Bobbys to sting any car parked in a Disabled spot,it was funny to watch people been booked for it and they even had a Police van and back up to take away any one who gets agressive
It looked like they caught an Asian guy in a BMW with a problem with his Disabled badge,he loked fit and health to me! and it looked like they were going to take his BMW away on a flatbed,i wanted to stay longer and watch but i had to get a move on with the shopping.
If you go into Bolton? then dont park in a Disabled spot without a valid badge as it looks like you will be caught.
There's a nationwide crackdown on this, illegal parking and dodgy badges.
Most of our local buses have cameras to record cars parked on bus stops, the car owner gets his bill in the post.
Are these drivers chancers or are they incapable of reading and obeying road signage? I think the answer would be a re take of the theory test every time a parking ticket is issued.

disabled spaces and mother and child spaces appear to be fair game....which is wrong on many levels
however it is also annoying sitting waiting for a space in a queue on a saturday while 15 disabled spaces sit unused.
and frankly that is not surprising either
given the inconsiderate tossers i put up with just manuvering a small pushchair (quinny Zap:- the ultimate in dad orientated pushchair design 1 handed manuverability and turns on a dime) god help anyone who is less mobile and using equipement more bulky to achieve their aim of a bit of shopping.
i do get annoyed when i have to do the mad dash down the ramp, toddler in tow because inconsiderate gits with no kids in tow have parked in the parent child spaces on the side of the car park with the lift.
I have great sympathy for any disabled badge holder who finds yet again that a blinged up saxo full of louts (or indeed mother with toddler) is squatting in their space.

I have two young kids so I use the Parent and Kid spot at Tesco's, but if they are all full and I see 15 disabled spaces I dont feel any pang's of guilt parking there. In my opinion (as I know everyone loves to hear it ) is they dish out these disabled badges like sweeties. A bit old? Have a badge. A bit Fat? Here, have a badge! Not the regulation minimum hight and are classed as a midget? here you go sir, have a badge, you must be disabled. The list goes on.......
I feel sorry for those that are genuinely disabled but they seem to be in the minority of the actual badge holders. I know a lad who's Dad has arthritis and claims disability but has no interest in a car, so he gives it to his son and classes him as his designated carer or whatever. So this 20 year old gets a brand new Ford Focus, with the Blue Badge every three bloody years-free! He does not pay for tyres so he does burn outs all the time ect. His Dad does not even use the car, he walkes to the shops! Makes my blood boil!
Great news that they are clamping down hard on the disabled bays, I think that is great news, it's nearly always arrogant owners of large German cars that are responsible as well, it's never a little old lady in her Matiz parking in those spaces.
At the same time I never thought I'd say this but I agree with Trig, they shouldn't be handing these things out like sweets...they should be super strict issuing these things.
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.
A lot of people using blue badges to park in disabled bays are not the badge holder. The badge features a photo of the holder but it is not on the front cover so it pretty much defeats the point. It would be much easier to enforce these badges if the photo was on the front cover and it was an offence to display them without the holder present, either on arrival or departure of the bay.

Not disabled,an old dear in town here, driving with her leg in plaster lost control and mounted the pavement, flattening a pedestrian. He was in hospital/off work for months. She got done for driving without due care and attention. when really she should be banned.

Bring back the Invacar. That would sort the wheat from the chaff . . Infact take it further and make any toe rags caught with no tax ,test insurance have there blinged up Corsa /Punto taken off em and be made to ride around in one for 5 years.

Yeah, you ain't kidding. Surely if they're well enough to operate a manual car, then they're well enough to walk a few more yards to the lift, or front door of tescos.
People with 1 leg etc. should get these badges.
Oh, your a carer? OK, drop them off at the drop off point, then GO PARK!
On your return, GO GET THE CAR 1st, THEN MEET THEM !!!
