Purple Helmet... Of the Mopar kind!

Post by Jeff »

The first of the new helmets came in yesterday for me to start. It's a nice piece, started stripping it down last night ready for base coat.

Watch this space.

I sent some pics of Kev's helmet I painted, to the makers. They now have the pic on their office wall! I was well chuffed when they told me that!

Upside is, I scored a deal on these helmets! On the condition I only sell them as finished painted items, that way it don't upset the UK distributor. So perhaps, I may just concentrate on these for a while.

Stripped and masked, ready for a good keying and waterbased sealer. No solvents touch the surfaces on helmets I paint. Just to be on the safe side. :thumbright:

not a great deal goes into these, Stu, it's five minutes work to rustle up a cool paint job on a helmet ...:drwho:

Is that how long you must shake the spray can for Ivor :D

Jeff,
On a serious note, its good to see, how its done, be interesting to see how you build up the airbrushing, masking, etc

Most of the stuff I do is freehand Mark, So not a great deal of masking really. But I can tack pics of WIP if you want.

Yes, please Jeff, Work in Prog would be good, I have never watched or seen airbrushing done.

Stupid really, as I had a chance many moons back to watch Ray Mumford do my mates Mustang (Gone in 60 Secs) but never went for some reason beyond me
