tv; Dave Gorman in America Unchained

Post by Charger »

showing again tonight Wed 21 Jan channel 4 22:50 :thumbright:

Having become disillusioned during previous visits to the US by the procession of identikit, cookie-cutter chain hotels he was staying in and the corporate face of America they revealed, Gorman hatched a plan: return to America, buy a second-hand car, then drive from coast to coast without spending any money in the chains

first time I’ve seen this, missed it before, fantastic stuff, would luv to do that one day, some great places, people and scenery :thumbright:

I think he was lucky with the Torino in that he didn’t really appear to prepare the car all that well for the journey, only broke down a few times and half of them were cos he ran out of gas, great car though 8-)

Dave, have a look on http://www.channel4.com/4od Channel 4’s ‘iplayer’ type thing, it might be on there, I can’t actually see 4od from work it’s blocked, so I don’t know if it’s on there or not ;)

It's really difficult to avoid "The Man" when you are on a roadtrip, believe me I've tried! I dislike McD's etc so that was easy but the gas issue is different all together. In the end you just have to go with the cheapest for your own benefit.
Sadly there's no trip on the cards for me for a while, unless the £ picks up anyway.
