i just thought i would post this hear

i am not pithed of or anoyed or anything just got off the phoneto stu as its easier to gage what people are feeling etc

i do have the money to do this 440 and to be honest i could just get everything right now including the stuff to modify the car to take the engine but i am trying to be sensible and only getting bits that i feel i may not find cheaper later one

the deal on the 440 was done a while ago and just took a long time for me to get it the block and rebuild heads were £140 which ok its a stripped block but i have seen rebuilt heads go for more than that

the idea is to carry on using the 416 as there is plenty more to do and just keep collecting parts over the years for the 440 i would like to get the 416 without drugs into the mid 12s as i feel that would be a nice compremise between strip/street once i have got to that and providing i have had everything collected by then the 440 comes into it i just want to get the 440 to run right maybe not quick but just run right then start slowly adding bits but ultimatly the 440 will be going into a car more geared to racing ie not street legal
then the petty will go to jpc as i think that car deserves it [and is falling apart] obviously the 416 will go back in
as for the job seekers allowance i collect that goes into a seperate account and gets used for parking/fuel for getting to interviews and sometimes bus fair i havent even been to the pub for a few months

as anyone that has been unemploed for a long period unemployment is depressing seriously depressing things were going well for me untill this but hay ho im trying to keep my head up and just buying a couple of little bits and seeing them being attached to the block sitting behind the block and going vroom vroom has really helped :thumbright: havent really been able to drive the plymouth that much taken it out a couple of times just to make sure its running ok [even my mum has given me a bit petrol money because she was worried about it]

but anyway i hope this clears some stuff up as said im not anoyed or anything and advice etc is welcomed but just to let you know i do have an idea of cost etc and i know it isnt just a case of drop 440 in

p.s please excuse no punctuation etc

As I've said, Mate, if you have the money to fund it and you know the costs involved, get stuck in! :thumbright:

You should shove it up in the workshop section as you build it... :drwho:

All anyone was worried about was that you didn't have the money to get pulled into a hole with. Now you've clarified that you have, more power to you Mate. ;) Good to speak to you on the phone. Nice to know that you know what you're getting into. :thumbright:
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

Si set yourself a target with your 440 build and stick to it (as has been mentioned by others here).Collecting parts as you go is a good idea plenty of good stuff comes up here from time to time at the right price if your quick enough. As for the windups its all part of the crack on here and i always find it lightens up the day especially the the way things are at the moment, good luck with the job hunting I'm sure something will turn up. :thumbright:

Si, I know what it's like as regards work. I've got bugger all at the moment. It gives me time to work on my motor, but it doesn't pay bills. My advice is, build a strong bottom end, then you can do what you want further down the line. :thumbright:
Give me a shout if you get bored. You can come help me on my motor... :D
