Rear Axle seal adjustment

Post by GeneralWee »

Changed a rear wheel bearing and seal on 8 3/4 axle. What does the adjuster do with the seal in on the off side , and how should I set it?
Its the big thing you tap round behind the hub flange, with the interlocking tab.
Thanks

I don't know what book that is but 8.75 axle shaft endplay should be 8 to 18 thou. Not what it says in that photo.
