Changed a rear wheel bearing and seal on 8 3/4 axle. What does the adjuster do with the seal in on the off side , and how should I set it?
Its the big thing you tap round behind the hub flange, with the interlocking tab.
Thanks

its the axle end float adjustment. when i did my seals i marked the position it was in and put it back in the same position. if you want to adjust it and can wait till tomorrow i can scan the instruction for you and post them here.

I don't know what book that is but 8.75 axle shaft endplay should be 8 to 18 thou. Not what it says in that photo.

Dave that section is out of a 68 charger workshop manual for a 8.75 rear end.

Mmm. They must have tightened the spec from '69 on then.
