Put a smile on my Face(Ford content warning!)

Post by TYREMAN »

I had a good drive and a hoon in the sunshine this afternoon.

The Cobra has been running a little rough this week so today i changed all the plugs on her, that is not as simple as it sounds with this Ford 428 and the Shock towers been so close to the side of the motor but i managed it :thumbright:

After Doing that i thought to myself im getting fed up with the hobby, i will give up once and for all! :D

But when i started her up and She sounded great my effort with the Plugs was soon forgotten, there is nothing better(apart from sex) than a sweet running V8 on a nice day.

So i had a bit of a drive and i got to the lights on a duel carriageway and a nice shiny Porsche pulled up beside me revving his engine. The Porsche was full of young kids egging me on, one in the front passenger seat and two in the back.

So i could not resist and went for it on Green  i got a full car length ahead of the Porsche and it caught me up but i stayed a half length ahead of it and then it backed off and pulled behind ready for the next lights and junction

The Kids in the car looked shocked to say the least :) but they all gave me a thumbs up and looked like they had fun :) i know the Porsche could beet the Cobra on a good day,and it would leave me for dead on the bends.

But it just goes to show that you don't need to spend a fortune to have a fun car.I bet you have all had similar story's over the years.

Even your much more costly Mopars are still little money in comparison to modern Muscle cars,Mopars are still worth every penny IMHO 8-)

What would it cost to insure Modern Muscle?

What would the depreciation be?

Can you fix them yourself at home?

What would the Parts and servicing cost?

No need to go on! i think you get my point :D

Mopars rule 8-) .........................and the odd Ford and Chevy  :D

Tony, you can't give up just cos the plugs are tricky!!!
Wait until youve replaced engine, trans , suspension, axle etc...
Good story though. I was out hooning around too, enjoying the sunshine and getting thumbs up from various folks.
Stereo off, rumble on. Jobs a good un!

if the plugs are as tight as mine on the drivers side bank i know how you feel a complete Bananarama! to get to  ..have found undoing the engine mount and jacking the engine up on that side the best way to get to them ...

I think it was a 924? :D just kidding thanks Dunc :D it was fairly new and it was the 911 type of shape and not the Boxer, but other than that i do not know? it looked expensive though.

Forgive me but i do not know Porsche models.

The plugs are a pain on the Drivers Bank Yes numbers 6 and 7 i can get them out no problem but i find getting them back in tricky as i can not get my hand in so there is no fingertip feel to getting them back in again,i suspect though that i have a bit more room to play with than a Mustang big block would have.

Cheers.

It looks a little easyer on my car Dave i do not have those braces to get in the way and i possibly have a little more space between the Block and the tower as it a Fairlane.

Sorry that is a poor angle in the pic i have.

That engine bay and motor of yours looks very tidy Dave =P~
