To scoop or not to scoopp?
Not for purists. These twin scoops originate from an AMX, thought i'd mock them up. Not sure meself, what do you guys think?

I am certainly no expert, but I do not think they would function very well, it at all.
There is a "boundary layer" of air that "sticks" to the car and does not help in terms of flow to the engine (and it causes drag).
This is why the T/A scoop is a snorkel style that sticks up above this boundary layer.
Scoops that work tend to be quite hi-rise, such as the Superstock "A" body Hemi "suitcase" or the old Mosher type scoops - or even the style that was on Duncan's blue Challenger

No calculation necessary when you see cars going up the strip with no hood at all let alone a scoop
I go on the theory that any cold air getting in the engine bay is a good thing, mine should really have a Ram Air plenum to go with the NACA scoops but that got lost/bust years ago so I'm quite happy to just let air blast in there & if some by chance goes down the carb then the jobs a goodun.
