Not for purists. These twin scoops originate from an AMX, thought i'd mock them up. Not sure meself, what do you guys think?

cheers chaps. Jus' cant make me mind up. I think I secretly hanker after a ramcharger type scoop, but these ones are more subtle and practical as passing animals and kids can't get sucked into the engine bay

Go for it Miles
Anything that makes your Dart look more like my Muzzy is a great idea, especially when the cops are looking for a yellow & black yank car spotted hooning around town

In terms of "dressing up" I think it looks good; but have you considered a functional hood scoop?
I believe that hood is the same as fitted to a '69 Barracuda, so there may be other options available and some that get fresh air into your engine

Pete, I would have it as a functioning scoop/s for sure. That sort of begs the question of 'how much air is good/enough/too much?' etc... any calculations out there?

I am certainly no expert, but I do not think they would function very well, it at all.
There is a "boundary layer" of air that "sticks" to the car and does not help in terms of flow to the engine (and it causes drag).
This is why the T/A scoop is a snorkel style that sticks up above this boundary layer.
Scoops that work tend to be quite hi-rise, such as the Superstock "A" body Hemi "suitcase" or the old Mosher type scoops - or even the style that was on Duncan's blue Challenger

No calculation necessary when you see cars going up the strip with no hood at all let alone a scoop
I go on the theory that any cold air getting in the engine bay is a good thing, mine should really have a Ram Air plenum to go with the NACA scoops but that got lost/bust years ago so I'm quite happy to just let air blast in there & if some by chance goes down the carb then the jobs a goodun.
