You need a fitting that opens below the throttle blades in the base plate. Or to the manifold vacuum source for the power brakes.

Are you looking for a spark port or full manifold vacuum??

On the base plate, under the primary float bowl (where the 'Holley' is on your photo.

Or, on the side of the primary jet plate, above the idle mixture screw, on the far side in your photo (you can just see a little hump which I assume is the rubber cap).

Here's a photo showing both:- vacuum hose to jet plate, rubber cap over base plate.

That's a 600cfm vac sec carb as well.

If it is a gauge for manifold vacuum you need the lower fitting. If it is for seeing if you have the idle system working you need the higher (ignition timing) one on the metering block.

You have lost me bonnie lad.

You do know what a vacuum gauge is for don't you? It has nothing to do with your timing. It has everything to do with tuning your carb.
