Tail shaft case

Tail shaft case

I keep breaking the rear case on a 727, any ideas what would cause it??

mountings are new,

prop is new,

and the drive train looks in line????

You have a severe case of Heavy Right Foot. I prescribe a Fiat Cinquecento for a month. It won't help but it'll be a laugh to see you drive it!!!

tail hsg,s do break occ,
should not keep happening,
you either have an alignment problem or a balance problem, you must
stick with a rubber trans mnt even when you run solid engine mnts or a mtr plate, most break because they have bad prop uj,s also if your a berk and keep burning the car out gettin the rear axle bouncing up and down they break tailhsgs,

New prop and uj's, new rubber mount.

only happens at the nats every year,

could the shaft be bent ?????????

possible, you have had a prop let go before i think??? maybe it bent the tailshaft then ??

does the box have to be stripped or does it come out the back??

had two props let go both at the rear thats why i had new one made this year.

If it is bent do you have one?? how much??

trans has to be fully stripped the shaft is the last part to take out first part back in, yes will have one £40.00 plus p&p

looks like i will be taking box out soon. will be in touch Duncan

Might need another case aswell

Wil, the case broke after 2 runs, felt the vibration when it went, never made it to the burns outs this year!!

had shaft put on lathe and it is bent and twisted, so,

got a 727 box minus sump for £50 swapped over the rear shaft and casing, but can't remember the specs for tightening the bands,

can anyone help?? Duncan, Blue ??
