air shocks

Post by shifter »

Anyone know anything about adjustable air shocks?
Just pumped the rear shocks up on my coronet as it was laying a bit low at the back. Wasnt sure how much pressure these things need so kept topping it up as the shocks were still extending. Decided to call it a day at 100psi as I didnt want to push my luck. Does this sound ok?
Also can these shocks be repaired if they leak?
Thanks

Throw them away before they bust your shock mounts. Get some good springs and decent shocks, kyb or similar.

Get the springs re-built and re-arched. I used a place next to the old Federation brewery in Dunston. Not an expensive job.

Thanks for the advice. Ill replace the shocks when I get the chance.
Ive heard of the place at Dunston but never been. Probably a lot easier than getting new ones and just down the road.

Dave,
Generally the car is used locally. I like to have the odd run up to rothbury or alwinton. I lent it to my mate a couple of weeks ago and he took it down to Newark for americana.

I'm in High Heaton, Newcastle near the Freeman Hospital and the Ministry. :thumbright:

Limiting my runs out at the moment due to lack of money and a big US road trip coming up at the end of September which somehow has to be paid for....

That bit of Newton Road from the Corner House pub on the Coast Road to the ATS garage at the top of the hill is mostly council and ex-council housing and is a bit of the rough side with teenagers causing problems etc. But from the ATS garage up-over where I live it is a lovely estate and pretty quiet. Not a bad place it live at all.
