BBC end of the line(Rant)

Here is a letter i sent to the BBC trust

Dear Sirs

Hello my name is Tony Tyreman i live in the North West (Bolton)

I do not know if this is the right place to to say this? but i will just let you know that when the signal turns to digital in November i will give away all my TVs and no longer bother to pay the license.
I recently lost my job like many others and i think it is unfair that i should pay a license fee just to own a TV! i think i should be given a choice not to get the BBC and not pay a fee if i choose to not watch the BBC,Why should i pay to keep all BBC staff in secure work? when the rest of the country is struggling? paying for stuff i do not watch and jobs for the Boys with all these endless Celebrity programs! and idiots who should be sacked like Jonathan Ross. Before you think i am bitter i felt the same before i lost my job and before the Jonathan Ross episode.
To make matters worse if i want to watch something BBC again i have to pay for expensive DVDs just to see it again on top of the license fee,Doctor Who is a good example.funny how we were bombarded with repeat-es before money was to be made on DVD and Video, and now the good stuff is not shown again.

I will not go on anymore! all i will say is the BBC has had its day and i will not be paying a license fee again, and i will let my views knows to my local MP that i think the License fee should be scrapped next time it is reviewed.

Yours Faithfully

T C Tyreman.

You may think i am a nutter :D but i have felt like this for some years and i can not be bothered to update to digital in November truth be known

If i scrap my TVs i will be better off by far! and learn more by reading Books and have a better quality of life.I can still watch DVDs on my PC

Remember the ACDC song "Blow up you video" well the same applies with my Goggle Boxes

If anyone wants an old Blackstrip FST tv and one 14 inc Alba LCD tv you can have them for free if you can be bothered to collect them.

Dam! i forgot to say in that letter that i am also helping to keep the Antique trade afloat with all the programs like "Bargain Hunt" "Cash in the Attic" "Car boot Booty" "trust me I'm a Dealer" they Antique dealers must be having a right laugh!

And have you ever seen daytime TV? for years it has been in the afternoon "Murder She Wrote" and when that ends they go on to Diagnosis Murder its been going on for years

"Murder she Wrote" Diagnosis Murder" on and on for years :D they don't seem to spend a lot of the License fee Tax on daytime TV.

Spread the word :thumbright: they do make some ok stuff like the nature and Science programs but sadly not enough and you need BBC4 to see a lot of it.

sell ya TV buy a monitor and watch DVDs

and while you are doing that contemplate the dross we get on some of the lesser known channels and think how great it could be if all that was on was that, night after, night prime time, every 1/2 hour programme bulked out to 45-50 minutes with adverts

Have you seen US tv????

we only get the good stuff that floats to the top

there's a great big barrel of crap below that

Got to agree with you guys!
That is the alternative to BBC. I'll take BBC, even though I agree they could improve - but they are catering for the masses who inexplicably seem to lap up dross.

we binned out sky in march, was a shock to start with but no probs now

Must admit I don't watch much on the BBC except for Waking The Dead and their wildlife programs.

I'm pretty ok with the license fee as no matter what you think they and David Attenborough have made some damn spectacular wildlife, nature, and conservation docs, worth it just for that.

And we were paying over £40 a month for Sky, I mean £40 + a month to watch the damn TV 2 hours a night..... now that IS a rip off

only ever had freeview myself, just can’t justify cable or satellite, believe freeview hd is coming soon, 1 of the reasons behind yesterday’s re-tune

Hello my name is Tony Teaserman i live in the North West (Bolton)

I do not know if this is the right place to to say this? so i have also posted a copy on the MMA board, but i will just let you know that when the signal turns to digital in November i will give away all my TVs Videos and Midget Porn Collection and no longer bother to pay the license.
I recently lost my job due to lack of effort and a glass back like many others at the post office, and i think it is unfair that i should pay a license fee just to own a TV! i think i should be not given a choice to get the BBC and not pay a fee if i choose to not watch the BBC,Why should i pay to keep all BBC staff in secure work? when the rest of the country is struggling? paying for stuff i do watch and jobs for the Boys with all these endless Celebrity programs! and idiots who should be sacked like Jonathan Ross ( whom i have had many haircuts inspired by) .Before you think i am bitter and twisted i felt the same before i lost my job because i did`nt like working anyway and before the Jonathan Ross episode.
To make matters worse if i want to watch something BBC again i have to pay for inexpensive DVDs just to see it again on top of the license fee,Doctor Who is a bad example.funny how we were bombarded with repeat-es before money was to be made on DVD and Betamax Video, and now the good stuff is not shown again.

*shrug* I've not watched any TV for 2 years now, don't miss it at all. There's too much to see and do in real life for me to be sat in front of a box like a brainless sack of cr@p.

Love it :thumbright: :D

I agree with what a lot of you said about the Commercial Channels.all the ads are a nightmare so i give the BBC credit for that.

Still even some of the BBC stuff is unwatchable, look at all these Police and Rescue programs where they drag it out and have say 4 story's in one and they jump from one to the other so one section is split into 4 parts and before each part they remind you what happened in the part you have just seen

Having mild OCD :D I can not cope with that! i want to see something from start to completion and then move on to the next segment.
