Tracking Toe in

Post by Anonymous »

had my tracking done this morning as the inside of the tyres were wearing.
Checked out that they were +3mm toe out and the manual says toe in should be 3mm (eighth inch). The guy says to me that to move it all the way back to 3mm toe in would be way too much. I begged to differ but wasn`t sure so we compromised on zero. A mega difference in the steering noticed now, much firmer and precise.
Popped in to Dave R this PM just for a cruise after some timing checks and he thinks I should have gone for 1-2mm, which were my thoughts at the time.
I`m running 245/60/14. Does anyone have any tips, advice or comments on this subject.

Oh, by the way Dave, I got home OK with no steam power :)
We went for a test blast earlier and a heater hose blew off

I am glad I had my window up. I would have been a steam pudding otherwise.

Neil these are the settings you want mate. I actually said 2-3mm in.

3/32" toe in.
0.75 to 1.0 negative camber.
As much positive caster as the stock adjustment can give you.

ok I stand corrected

I`ll live with the settings I`ve got for now and try them out.

I`ll need to find a better garage with more helpful people there next time.
They used to be real helpful before, but all the the guys I knew have gone now :(
