Tired,sore and unhappy (edit)

Just been changing the small block on the Challenger,on my own,If any of you guys had seen me removing the bonnet myself you'd have wet yourself!
Got the old lump and tranny out easy enough, and yes, I didn't drain the ATF.... New one in along with another box....and yes,I should have learned from the old box....
Hooked it all up,while coming up for air once in a while from the huge red loch in the garage, finally got it to start, after going to the garage for some fuel...It started easily enough,on open headers, fitting an exhaust is my next job,and when it was running it attracted the whole neighbourhood, queues of kids outside asking all sorts of questions, although one wee chap did ask "is that an American Muscle car?" which lifed my mood slightly! Anyway,in with the rad,and alternator, filled the rad and fired her up,much easier this time, when I noticed the red puddle on the floor getting bigger, but less red..Yep,a water leak, and it just had to be....in behind the gearbox ....All new core plugs too!!! AAARRRGGGHHH. I'll not be able to get near it now for another few days,as I've been putting off my customers as much as possible,so its Corsa's and Mondeo's on the ramp for a while, while the Dodge sits silent

I know the feeling - I removed the bonnet by myself (on the way to solo engine/gearbox), and about halfway through (past the point of no return) wondered what on earth I was doing.....

Yup. Have fallen fowl of the rear core plug thing (on a 318) myself years ago. I remembered it was only one plug at the back but I am talking over 20 years ago so I am suprised I remember it at all really.

Yep,the small block has 2 core plugs in te back of the block, and 3 oil gallery plugs, all of these were in the kit.I put some Bars Leaks in this morning, and its stopped the leak,a mate even dropped in to help refit the bonnet...What a difference a day makes!!! :o
