crankshaft pulley

Post by Anonymous »

im about to inspect the damage under the bonnet. i have stripped out the water pump, rad, fan and alternator. i just need to see the timing chain then replace it and see if it runs. i know i have to take off the crankshaft pulley, do i have to line any marks up before i take it off? is there a special procedure to inspect/replace the chain?

i just need to get it running so i can sell her on, realised i cant afford to run a mopar anymore :(

any help would be appretiated.

get your engine set up at top dead centre on the crank pulley make sure the disi rotor arm points under the no 1 tower on the disi cap you can now strip the front off,
you need to keep the engine set up like this and fit your new timing chain and gears and keep the dots lined up with a straight edge

just had a closer look. there one mark on the pulley but it doesnt seem pulley but it doesnt seel to line up with anything. i cant go by the distributor because it doesnt turn. noing on the top half of the engine turns. are the valves likely to of hit the pistons? if so is it really worth looking at?
the only way i can think of to find tdc is to use a screwdriver down the spark plug hole?
