I tired a little mod on the Coronet that doesn't work, I wanted to run a dragster sump so cut out the K frame and extended the pitman arm lowered the steering arm and it doesn't work too much bump steer worth a try thou.
So what shall I do, change K member and put it all back stock and put a deep sump back on, or change every thing I would love to get rid of the torsion bars and have coil-over front suspension and a flaming river rack.
The car is 90% race 10% road the lighter the better and I don't mind cutting it up and making things all part of the fun but my pockets aren't as deep as they used to be, any thoughts please

Jim, the track rods need to pivot in the same arc as the lower control arm, lowering them has caused them to move in a different arc hence the bump steer. The old trick, as I'm sure you know, was to weld a tube through the oil pan to allow the centre link to pass through, is that an option? I can tell you from experience that the bolt on suspension kits do not save more than 20lb over a lightened stock setup, no matter what the manufacturers might claim. Space is the only big gain. Mounting a rack at the front is an option, but akermann needs to be addressed and the height of the rack is important too, or it's bump steer city again.
Cheers Blue we had a Milodon deep sump that had the hole in the middle with external oiling, but clearance was a pain and my Brother managed to hit it big time, so hence the dragster sump as I had one kicking around off the Belve, Trouble with the drag sump is where the arm needs to go is right where the pick ups are, Should have left alone, hindsight is a great thing live and learn

Why not put rack and pinion on it located behind the sump and use a Borgsson joint ( double jointed ) to get the shaft where you need it.
Worked a treat on mine, wheels stayed in a straight line when airborne
