Engine ID
I have just recieved my block back from its rebore and started to clean it, the engine number is definatly GT413 27
On the block by the number 8 cylinder is a large 6 in the casting.
Under the original blue paint are the letters GACB in silver paint.
At the back of the block are the numbers 2658 8362.
And on the left hand side are the numbers 101570, I believe this is the casting date?
Can anybody tell me anything about my engine from this information?

So this is a 1970 426 wedge? I had no idea they made any past 1965. Obviously if it is an industrial only engine it would not be in the list of available engines we normally see.
The 413 and 426 (being RB engines) both had the same 3.75" stroke. There was just a difference in bore diameter, 4.18" and 4.25" respectively.

So are there any problems with trying to build an industrial unit to go in a slingshot?
I would assume the casting is the same standard and it wont go bang the first time it fires back into life. I have been thinking of calling the car Prodigy, but I don't want to end up with a Twisted Fire Starter!
