Put the rubber ring in the hole on the back of the cylinder piston.

Put a little Fairy Liquid on the end of the pushrod.

Assemble everything. Adjust the pushrod to give you the correct height on your brake pedal.

Press the brake pedal down hard. The pushrod should pop into the back of the cylinder fully. Re-adjust the pushrod if needed. Make sure the pedal does not bottom out on the floor.

Also make sure the rod is not adjusted too long (to make the pedal travel shorter). After a few miles driving the fluid will expand and your brakes will lock on....My mate did that one and the car ground to a halt miles from anywhere down a country lane with no tools onboard - he had to wee on the calipers and rotors to cool then down

Also (this is important!) once you have popped it in, pull on the brake pedal to check that it is really retained in the m/c. Should not be an issue, especially with the lube, but it is quick to check and potentially a major issue if it isn't retained
