Transmission line route

I want to re-route the transmission lines and wanted to know if I end up having a longer run to the rad will it cause a problem.
I want to run them from the rad to the drivers side chassis rail and back to the torsion bar cross rail and then to the transmission.
Will then extra distance cause and problems.
I am going to use cupro nickle 5/16 pipe.

An increase in the amount of fluid because of the longer lines will be a benifit. But any warming of the fluid from the engine or exhaust will be counter-productive. So make sure the lines are insulated where they run near heat sources.

I want to re-route them to move them away from any heat source but just wanted to make sure it was ok

I ran them from trans , down chassis rail , under rad & into cooler , makes life easier using -6.

Why not use an oil cooler? , no chance of contaminating trans with antifreeze.

:iagree: got a cooler sat in front of the rad, spaced away from it approx 4-5" at least this way it doesnt pick up any heat from the rad. also like adam did,pipes down the chassis rail
keep it mopar !

The tricky bit is going from the chassis rail to the trans as you have to cross the exhaust.

I will put cooler on at some point but at the moment I wil still use the standard rad set up. I am going to use hard line and will keep it tight to the under side of the floor so should keep it far enough away from the exhaust.

I'd never use a combined rad/ trans cooler- that's what killed my trans the 1st time.
Also, as i wasn't told to flush the converter after that rebuild, it could well have started it on the road to it's recent 2nd failure!
No-one will believe you...

I done the same as Dirty Diesel Adam. A good long length of insulated sleeved heat shield keeps the heat off the pipes. Works a treat.

Yep , routed flow to cooler line (-6) straight through the middle of #s 3 & 5 primary tubes , return line went over top of collector.
