Just to say Hi!

Post by VHValiant »

R/Tauto now VHValiant, after a year, for the most part away from anything to do with old cars (Mopar or otherwise).
Hope this year to get to a few shows & make a start on some much needed work on the Regal wagon.

So cheers for now Steve.

Thanks for the welcome back and thanks to Mandie and Matt for the speedy service getting the membership cards and the bonus of the 3 copy's of Connected posted out to me.

Looking forward to meeting up with you all (old faces & new) at some of the events & shows over the year.

Terry I should be able to help you out with stub axle & maybe some other bits, pm me & let me know what you need.

Will be posting up a list of my own wants in the wanted section at some point over the next week.

Barry as you asked a couple of pictures of the Goon.

Hi Steve.

Nice looking wagon!
:thumbright:

Funny how things go some times, the only Valiant I saw on holiday was just outside Cape Town and it was a very similar to yours but a light blue.
Wife was driving and thought I had heat stroke when I said I wanted to take a photo. She was driving and refused to turn around!

Hope to meet you some time and have a look at your VH.

at a guess 1 :) unless steve knows better

the other one that popped up in recent memory that was driveable went in the crusher in 2004/5

blokely wanted 800 quid i think

belive it had been equipped with 727 and 8 3/4 rear axle as well

think James Bratby went to try to save the day but the owner couldn't be reasoned with or had paid for it to be scrapped and wouldn't sell

something odd about the proceedings anyway JB was tres annoyed

The last 1 was here in Braintree owned by a chap called Robin. He was offered fair mony for it by several people but not what he wanted. & so gave it to his mate to Banger Race. The B/W 2:92 suregrip sits in my garage.

Matt the photos lie its dissolving as I watch, as stated its overdue work, been let down by a couple of local small body shops, so will have to treat myself to a new mig & see what I can do.
Car port is of Polish manufacture will see if I can find the details on it.

All the other 3 Valiant Wagons I have come across including the last 1 here in Braintree have been of South African origin. This 1 been the only Aussie 1 I have come across.

Do like the look of your VG remember seeing it for sale & thought it looked a good bye for someone, a good genuine looking car with a bit of history.
I see your near Godalming, I lived in Guildford for 30+yrs & still have 3 daughters in the area 1 who lives in Milford, so get that way a fair bit.

Cheers Steve
