Monkey World Rivington Bolton

Post by TYREMAN »

I do not know if this is the best place to put it? but opened last year is a cool place to take the Kids Monkey world in Rivington Junction 6 M61 follow the signs for Rivington Barn and its there just near the lower barn.

Its just like an army assault Course but all high up in the trees, check before you go as it is not open every day,but should be open weekends.

There are two long slides that look good and the longest goes over a lake  if you are worried looks safe as they have a lot of instructors .

My only criticism is it used to be a nice peaceful place to go for a walk, now it is ruined by Screaming teenagers scared of heights. :D

It was closed when i took these yesterday.

P.S forgot at weekend it is full of Bikers at the Barn where this place is,a popular meeting place and on a bank holiday weekend there are thousands of them :thumbright:

Also a good place to Cycle but tough! it was the course they used for the Commonwealth Games for Road Bikes and Mountain. Also the same place they have the yearly Iron Man Triathlon.

My lad, George is now 12 and has just got a love of scary rides (as in amusement parks) I'm just at the age where I'm not so keen as I was for them. Imagine my excitement when Carole announced we were off to MovieWorld down the Gold Coast.....Had to do Bat Wing (vertical ascent 0-100kmh in no time, air time out of yer seat at the top). Oooh! Me back! Next up the log ride. (Not so bad, but q'd for an hour in total heat) Scooby Doo coaster. (Pretty ordinary, but the tight whips in black light a few M off the group questioned my physics knowledge). Lethal Weapon (suspended coaster with a lot of upside down stuff. Great fun but my ears were mashed by the over head restraint, hello? pardon? ) Superman Escapes. (Awesome! 0-100km/h in 3 seconds horizontal transition to vertical then over the top, over vertical and down into the rest of it, including loops) Got the rear carriage so got whipped into everything.

Scratch that earlier remark! I still love 'em!!!! 8-) 8-) 8-)

MY Dad likes wild swimming,on holiday a few years back my Mum had to call the coastguard because he had gone for a swim out to an island he was gone for hours and was fine :thumbright: but the coastguard were not to happy with ihm.Used to take me swimming in the Sea but i have not done it since School so i know its not for me.

So Kev your kids will remember that you were cool going on the rides.
