New intake

Thought I'd post some phone pics I took yesterday. Decided to fit the M1 intake again. Tried it last year and liked it on the street although it did lose some low rpm torque compared to the Performer RPM. Didn't make any difference at the drag strip at all. Got a different cam fitted now so decided to give it another try. I noticed the front ports didn't line up very well with the heads, I could see the marks left by the valley pan. So decided to gasket match it using a spare valley pan as a template and also did some work in the plenum, radiused the top of the ports and removed some casting flash. Also removed the coil mounting posts because they interfere with the fuel pipe and it looks much nicer without them.

No I'll be on street tyres so I'm not expecting any good times, just want to see if I can get the mph where it was.

This car would be on my wish list if I won the lottery. I don't think people give enough credit for the times you get from this motor considering your shifting on a manual box.Tell you what though Mick. When we have travelled down to the Pod together down the M6/M1 the sound your car makes is pure music. 8-) :thumbright:
