Does anyone know, if there is any weight savings going from SS springs to caltracs and monos.

question about caltracs and monos

Mick I would say that mono's and caltracks would be lighter than the standard set up but being in the area of the axle this is where you want the weight if you looking to hook up.
I fitted them on the Road Runner and found the difference marginal, to a good pair of adjustable shocks an anti roll bar and adjustable pinion snubber.
What they did do is ruin the car from road driving point of view, doubled the rear axle noise and made the rear end to stiff and cornering was whole new experience.
Went back to the standard set up.

Thanks Bob, They are a poor man's ladder bar, ok for drag racing but not much else, i was just curious, not looking to spend a lot on the car now, just do little things and tuning
I will probably stick with the SS springs, i've clamped the front sections anyway.
Do you think you will bring your car out this year.

Well I am having some problems locating the pistons as the bore is now 4.450" which is outside the the plug dia for any Chrysler piston, there is a slim chance that a Chevy casting might do it but I am waiting to here back
from Venola.
If I get the pistons then it will be quite easy to put her back together.
Never say never
