Know this may sound stupid but Ive just bought one for my 68 Polara 383 from a local car parts shop. Just put a piece of thick bunge cord around the pump pulley and bottom pulley with the pump bracket in mid adjustment and measure the length you need. Take it to any carparts shop (even Halfords) and go for an 'A' standard V belt. I have a 3 spoke pulley on mine and a standard 1175A belt fits perfectly! Mine said 'Halfords' on it so I just used fine sandpaper and gently rubbed it off. Easy fix for £4!!

Cheers........Steve

PS How is it in Falkirk? I was born there and lived in Shieldhill till I was 15 and moved to Birmingham... Lucky me!

Jim fish sorted his belts at the local motor factors 2 weeks ago, just gave the dimensions and got them off the shelf.

provided the V is the same

american V is different to a european V

get the mixed up and you run on point only or the edge only and they ware out quicker

Guess thats where the "A standard " bit comes in

Probably a bit late now as I've been off line a while at home but as Matt says, I got p/s belt and alternator off the shelf in Shefford. Took my old ones in and they matched them up, they are even made in the USA :thumbright:
