Well, ran a new best 60ft today 1.43 but speed was down on the run, tried a QF dominator but wasn't as crisp on my motor as the 950, tried jetting but still down on mph still managed a 10.40, swapped the 950 back on and ran a 10.37 but picked up nearly 3 mph, then as the track got colder did 2 more runs but both times i had to get off the loud pedal.
All in all, a good day, car ran reasonable and i drove it onto the trailer at the end of the day.
A local guy was there with his early camaro but broke his water pump, so didn't manage a run.
Graham Ellis was pitted opposite me, did 3 runs but blew the tyres off and shut it down on every pass.
My 1.43 got some nice air. :thumbright:

Just fitted an A/F meter Jon, all i need to do, is start looking at it, instead of staring straight ahead through the finish line. Showed 12.2 with the 950 through the line on one run.

14 would be a tad lean imo Jon, I aim to keep mine low to mid 13`s. At 12.2 Micks is quite rich over the line, very safe I would say :)

When i ran the car at home, the A/F was 13.9-14 at idle, so i took the pv out the front and jetted up 9 sizes and because i knew it would be reasonably cool, i jetted the secs up one at the same time.
If the track had been better, i would have jetted the secs down a couple to see what it might do.

On my car I tuned it for 14.5 at idle and the cruise at 13:1. Both on the primary only (up to 3000rpm) and also at higher rpm on the secondaries as well (up to 6000rpm).

You will find that at WOT on the track all that goes out of the window.
You don't have any manifold vacuum at WOT. Not unless you have a restrictive air filter or too small a carb. So the power valve is open and the pump shots are pouring fuel in too for the first 60ft.

So your WOT mixture is going to be at the exact ratio of "rich as Bananarama!" right across the finish line.
