press fit?

but i'd expect there to be a rear tin so you can't flick lighted ciggys into the wireing

aussie charger one has the front door and bucket mount onto attachments that are integral to the rear tin which also includes the ciggy lighter

the rear tin is looped in from under the dash and is held by clips and screws to the back of the opneing

your is deffinitly different

you can see ball bearing rollers so i guess the front swivels up and down on them

does the outside of these fit into the taps either side of the opening?

if not you are missing the rear tin with the front door mounting on it

The ashtray body slides forward in the bit with the balls, the whole assembly comes out for emptying if you press down on the sticky-up tag.
There must be a bit missing that fastens to the two lugs either side of the opening but i don't remember takin it off and gawd knows what i did with it :(

yeah but even that set up still leaves the back of the hole open

i.e you could do a james herriot and pull out your bulkhead connetor wireing with the ash tray in situe
obvioulsy not implying that your car is a Friesian

i mean if you gave any 1930s yorkshire vets a lift the car could be damaged especillay if he stripped to his waist and you have a bucket of water and a big bar of soap to hand

he'd be in there saying i can feel the head followed by total loss of power to both ignition and lights
