I can't remember what fuel injection system Matt Snowball is using Dave, I was talking to him at Brooklands yesterday, either way, I bet he'd know...

found some ( well written and detailed ) installation instructions here
http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_new ... 3000.shtml
specifies an 'hei' coil but isn't any more specific.
I'm using the FAST EZ-efi which is completely different - it's just a fuelling system with no control over ignition.
cheers
Matt

Hi Matt thanks
I do have the installation instructions but as you said all they state is that you use a 'hei' coil. I just wanted to know what other people were using.

I would use a HEI coil anyway along with a HEI module or MSD system. The HEI coil will work without a ballast resistor and deliver more energy.

Thanks Dave
As you see from the attachment the kit comes with everything but the coil and whenever I ring someone for a 'hei' coil they don't seam to know what I am talking about.

This might help as it has a bit on the coil.

Hi Dave
Thanks for that I always thought that the hei coil was in the distributor cap but the kit comes with a Mallory distributor and as a connection for a separate coil

So try searching for a E-Core coil rather than "HEI". They work better with computer controled systems as there is less electrical "noise".

Hi Dave
Thanks mate that Mallory one looks right if is separate from the distributor and the connection look the same as the one that I have the distributor that come with the kit is a Mallory one
Cheers Dave
