Hi there,

I joined last week, but have been too busy with moving down to Kent over the weekend to post anything up. I'm currently looking at getting myself an E body at some point in the next few months depending on when the right one comes along and thought I'd finally join the forum since I've been browsing the bits available to non-members for months.

I currently drive a 350z with a few toys - so looking for something completely different this time round (although I do love my Datsun). I'll probably only be looking to switch in a few months' time now that we've forked out for the deposit, first month's rent, furniture all round, yada, yada + are going on holiday next week. :)

What I'm after is ideally a 70-71 Challenger with a 426 Hemi or a 440 block (Magnum or 6 pack) or the equivalent Barracuda. (I know I know... Must come with fairy dust and rocking horse poop) I would consider 1972 - 1974 models if these came with something decent under the bonnet, were in good condition and came in at a good price. I'm not overly fussed by matching numbers, etc, although it would obviously be a bonus, but would not pass up a decent car with a swapped engine or whatnot.

Hopefully something will turn up and I'll get my dream car this autumn. 8-)

Hence the "ideally" caveat  If a great car with a 383 block or something else turned up that ticked all the boxes, looked the part & was priced right came along, I would be more than interested. Given that I'm in no rush to buy and would be in a better position in a few months anyway, I thought I might as well scout around in the meantime ;)

Saw that before and liked it. Phoned the owner, asked lots of questions, arranged to meet at a show in Newark. Drove 45 minutes to get there, paid £30 each for my wife and I to enter, but he never showed up. Maybe I'll come across it in the next few months...

So if I get your first post right, your car budget is anything between £10K to £60K.

I wish I had a budget like that! :D

Welcome to the club. :)

I run a message board for Challenger owners if you want to look into that as well.
