Calling Aussie Val Owners

Post by Dave999 »

Aussie charger Tyres

currently have 225 70 r14 tyres on the front and back

I think that means

225 mm wide
70 mm tall
14 inch wheels

anyway these tyres are worn and if i want to get to the nats i need an MOT.

I just got a set of 195 65 14 fitted to the front. All we could get our hands on at shortish notice

Nobody had a 225 70, or similar in a 14 inch size anywhere. they don't even come up on the computer

these new tyres are a little skinny and look a bit odd but appear to have impoved the weight of the steering no end (due to smaller patch on the road). probably increased the life of my steering box wheel bearings and balljoints in 1 easy step.

What is everyone else running and are they a commonly available European size?

Tyre bloke was helpful but suggested i get some 17 inch wheels.........

Cooper Cobras are available in 225 60 14 (bit lower profile) from Sinton Tyres in Milton Keynes, or mail order online from blackcircles dot com at around 65 notes.

Might be worth a try...
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

I have two brand new W rated 205/70/R14's if you need them. They are Michelins and fit a 60's Ferrari but also happened to be the size I was looking for for mine. As it turned out I didn't need them so they are available at what I paid for them if you want.
