MMA drag team ?

Post by Mossy68 »

Been thinking.
Seeing as this is the best Mopar club bar none. All helping each other etc
I've come up with an idea. ( for those interested in drag racing )
At each event each racer could have a "team" of helpers made up of club members. Be it making tea or holding spanners to getting their hands dirty. Whatever !!!
I know this already is the case to some of you race boys but surely some ( at any level ) could do with some help ?
So basically a racer chooses as many interested members as he /she needs and the contacts them when attending a meeting blah blah.
Nothing set in stone just a bit of help for racers and a chance for those interested to get involved.
See. A massive race team all flying under one flag !!!!
What do you think ????
Right. So who wants a bald headed. Tattood. Annoying biker type chap in their team ? ( make a good cuppa and can build a killer bike engine !!) :D
It's all about Smiles per gallon !!!

I can see what your aiming at Mossy....

Thing is most of the racers take a few good reliable knowledgable mates with them normally.

Then there is the bigger problem of guys you dont know... messing albeit in a good way, being helpful with your pride and joy (Expensive Mopar)

I had that one year at the nats and someone helping to empty a fresh bottle of Nitrous for me, not on purpose but he didnt know enough

No biggie but expensive helper.

I take advice from others but prefer to work on my own or with one mate ..then we dont miss stuff.

But a good idea for racers less particular than me.

i think its a great idea even if regular people ie volunteers just did some donkey type work for racers around the pits till they were slowly introduced to better things,,

I think its a great idea (says the wana be racer) That built a show car :banghead:

At the nats i was allowed (with supervision) to play with guys oranage mean machine.

We also put a flashing light on lead 1 and we stwisted fuel srews also removed square tyres.

And his wife kept feeding me food very lovely lady (lucky git)

I learnt more in that 1 day than months of reading books.

If he will have me back i would be honored to crew for him at this years nats

I'm looking for someone to collect my car on their trailer, take it to the track and bring it home again after. I will contribute something towards the fuel.

I heard Mopar Mark is looking for a dresser.

My lad Alex ( and me!) would love to help with anything at all!! Cleaning, making tea, pushing, tidying up, you name it.... Anything to get involved to be honest! Agree totally re the concerns about tinkering with the cars etc.... I know nothing of any value about race cars and would never want to, or expect to lay tools on anyones car but if you want your tyres or windows cleaned, tools or starter carried round the pits etc etc then we would love to get involved! What a great way to learn and meet people, and maybe even be able to payback in a 'tea making' sort of way for all the help thats dished out to us 'amateurs'.

Great idea Gary... hope it takes off! :thumbright:

Good idea, but most serious racers would not let any novice near the car with a spanner. Tea. butties and simple tasks would be a goer but would not fill the race day.

What i'm hoping is that i can get my car on the road and to the Nats. Then me (as the novice) will look for some of you clever people to help point out where i put fuel etc!

Maybe when i know what i'm doing and finished my project i'd be confident to help out someone else with their car/racer.

Maybe you can buy that 4dr Volare Wagon Gary and i'll help out at the Nats. Not to expensive and could be a lotta fun. Could even get Steve to make the Tea while Alex drives! :D Novice Race Team FTW!!! :thumbright:
