remote oil filter question

Post by aussie pete »

I have removed the remote oil filter ( of my aussie charger), the part that bolts onto the bottom of the block (to fix a leaking seal), i notice that there is a grub screw on the right hand side,....what does this do ???...it is not the pressure relief as that is in the oil pump ie in the sump

oil priming/filter emptying hole?

if i remember right the filter is in a weird place and orientation and you cover yourself and the engine in oil if you do anything with the filter

Ditto but here is a guess - sometimes those are just holes left from the manufacturing process. They have to drill a hole to create or intersect internal passages but then need to plug the access hole. Could it be that?
