Propshaft frustrations !

Post by Dart Vader »

Had a productive day on the car today, jobs done were mainly to swap out the old handbrake cables for brand new ones, and lovely they look too.

But, now that engine and box is in I thought I attached the Propshaft.

Arrrrrrh ! The prop I have doesn't fit. It's about 7mm too long

So questions are

How much play should there be in the prop when you put it in

Secondly, what are my options..but I guess you are going to say cut it, but that then leads back to the above...how much float should there be

You mean "cut it down and re-balance"....

Reco Prop in Luton will charge you £200.

I think there is cheaper place in Wyboston, do Basset Down do it near you?

Be thankful it's not too short that's harder to fix!
