E body brake upgrade

I finally got the parts I need to fit the Killers slotted and grooved discs on my Chally.
I'll be bolting them on this weekend so I'll post up some piccies, plus a bearing adaptor that allows you to keep your drum or early disc spindles and still fit later rotors

I'll have the lathe fired up, when you discover you need them machined to fit Ade!

They came from Steve Beschi, he had em spare after his supplier sent the wrong ones for his upgrade.
I think they were called Airheart or something?

Anton, the box they came in says R1 Concepts and the discs are from the E-Line range.

I finished this at the weekend but I did run into a couple of problems that took a while to sort out.
First was the seal on the rear of the disc hub that protects the larger inner wheel bearing.
My Chally has the early disc spindles on it, which are the same as the drum spindles. I've used a pair of adaptor sleeves from Scarebird that allow the use of the later (73 on) discs on the car without having to change the spindles.
This is well handy if your planning on fitting the larger 11 3/4" Cordoba discs or even in conjunction with a Viper caliper conversion like Steve (AllKiller) did in his Cuda.
For this reason tho the seals that usually fit the large bearing disc, are no good for the early spindles, so I contacted DrDiff in the states and he advised me to use National pt no 4950 seals which offer the same inner seal dia as the ones fitted on the original early discs.
Second was having to grind some material off the splash shields cos the lip on the shield was fouling the disc hub, easy fix tho.
Got it all shoved in and took it round the block to settle the pads and check everything works and it was all good.
Just gotta give the Yellowstuff pads a gentle break in procedure, EBC recommend a minimum 250-300 miles to properly get them bedded in.
Already the brakes have more bite, time will tell if the performance gains are actually that good
