New Wheels for the Duster

Post by kev73dart »

Hi All

While I was home last week I found time to try on the American Racing slot mags I got off Dave Billadeau, and I am well pleased.
I think they look much better than the chrome modulars and once they have their new big n little tyres and a Bananarama! they will look the part.

Thoughts and opinions welcome.

I want to find the correct nuts for these wheels now.

Cheers

Kev

The Old Rims

Post by kev73dart »

Here is a pic of the old rims, they look ok but they are heavy and in our climate, rust quickly!

For the sake of being honest I think I prefer the old ones but as you say, they may look beeter once polished. The off set on the fronts also looks a tad off imo.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I tend to agree that I could do with some different offset or narrower rims on the front but I am going to swop the tyres over then take a look.

If anyone has a pair of 6x15 or 7x15 American Racing slot mags that they want to sell, let me know!

Cheers

they look crap, you need to take them off and sell them to me :D ok thats not going to happen, they look good to me, a little wide on the front but better than the modulars. my skinny fronts went with my duster, dont know where they are now. i had 4x15 fronts and 9x15 rears, personaly i love slot mags of any make.

No you're not, all you could get for A bodies years ago was slot mags, i couldn't wait to get rid of mine for something else.
A set of weld draglites would look much cooler in my opinion.
Sorry Kev. :thumbright:

Thanks Guys

Mick - I do agree with you, but for now, and probably, for this year, these will do, they cost me £150, a cracked intake manifold and an old Grant wheel, and they do suit the car more than the chrome modular.......I think!! :?

Slot mags are the 70's only right they should be fitted to a 70's motor, I recon anyway.
