Bonnet alignment, Challenger

:?

So do all Challenger bonnets need to be pushed down at the back edge once they are shut ? Mine fits side to side and front to back, but once opened it sits high at the back and has to be pushed down.

Is this standard? I spent most of Sunday adjusting up and down but it still seems the same issue, feels like I am pushing out the spring tension but it stays down.

To get the back edge down you have to raise the hinge up. The opposite to what you would think.

They often still need a little help to push all the way down. Once I had mine right (which took ages and had me up the wall) I still needed to half close the hood and Bananarama! reawards before closing it the rest of the way. Otherwise it did not go down at the back. It was a good way to tell is some Bananarama! had been under the bonnet while my back was turned like at the NEC. :x

I did wonder if it was a common problem. I am not too worried at the moment, I mainly needed to get the gaps right so the wings could be bolted on for good.
Thanks for the ideas, up not down seems mad but I will give it a go!

Matt - mine needs a helping hand on the RH rear corner every time - but as most good car dealers would say "oh that, it's what we call a characteristic, sir". I've just learned to live with it to be honest.

Here's a potentially interesting thing that I noticed at the weekend.
Mine has hood pins but has never had the front coil spring fitted - due to the fact that the retaining tang on the brace plate has been snapped off. I fitted a new plate at the weekend and hence, the spring too. Probably a bit of a waste with the hood pins but it has been bugging me. I' may have been imagining this but I'm pretty sure the rear corner needed little or no help - as I guess there is some pre-load now from the front edge. Down side is predictable though ; bright trim lines up great on RHF and is about 6mm out on LH front - the side the pop-up spring is fitted.

Anyway, never mind all that - how do I RENEW my membership ?!!
