I have got one!

Post by Johnny Dart »

I picked up a 1974 d200 truck 360 , as a base for my engine build, Supposedly a low miles military unit.

I will be selling the flywheel, clutch, bell housing ,4 speed gearbox. I think it might be from a 4x4 , as it came with a very short prop, presumable to the transfer box.

It made the van sit down a bit :thumbright:

Good luck with it! Lots of options on engine builds out there. What's the plan?

Don't get too excited, I've got the axle to finish off, and the Auto gearbox to rebuild yet .

I need to get the Manual 360 gearbox off and sold. and strip the motor, to see if it is any good .

A manual gearbox is not for me, but I'm sure a stout 5 speed unit could be mated to the bell-housing/ flywheel, but that's a project for some other guy :thumbright:

You'll need to get a 360 mount for the k frame. Schumacher do them so do Mancini, it's the driver side one that's not the same as other small blocks

😎 did you pick the engine up Andover way ?
I think there's one of those engines down there, if your motor turns out to be shot I'll ask him if he's still got it.

1) I have stroked it, and petted it.
2) It may well have been kept in a beach hut, with the doors open.
supposedly low miles military. I won't know much until its opened up
3) It is definitely a gearbox from a 4x4 , but one with a remote transfer box , not as the bolt on one in the picture.
Will check out the numbers to identify engine and box.
