68 Charger front wheels query

I've changed from power to manual steering and have 7x15 front wheels, now that the steering is a lot heavier at parking speeds ( obviously expected this ), I know a narrower front wheel would help but, my current ones fill the arch nicely and I'm wondering how a narrower one would look. Are spacers with a narrower wheel an option or a no no?
Don't really want to go to the extreme of a 3.5 so was thinking of maybe a 5 or 5.5, I know I could fill the arches by using the inset and offset but concerned about putting undue pressure on the bearings.

What's everyone else done to get the wheel to look right in the arch?

TIA

pump your tyres up and get the front end castor checked.

what ratio steering box did you go for

24:1 or 20:1 or 16:1

16:1 would be a struggle in all but a light A body but the chances of finding one in 16:1 is minimal.

how wide are you wheels

20:1 ratio with 225 65 R14 on the front of my car was ok 195 is better

the 225 65 was about 8 inches across the treads on a 7 inch rim

the 195 is about 6.5 i think

I'm not sure what the ratio of the steering box is, it was second hand, not new when I bought it from another member.
I have 7x15 wheels with 235/60/15 cooper cobra tyres on at the moment

I have tall and skinny radials on my Bee - 205 x 70 x 15. #no gaps.......

Makes the rears look even wider

Do they look as though they fill the front arches Pete?

No gaps at the top but it will never fill arch like a 235.
My Fenders are more slab-sided than a Charger.

Only other option is wheels with more Back-spacing.............

Hmm, research on back spacing and wheel options required me thinks,
