Wasn't there talk on Moparts a while ago about these not actually fitting? Or was that another brand?

Dunno Dave :dontknow:

Could have been on a different model - this one seems to have fitted ok on their 71 Satellite.... Maybe different for an A, C or E bod?

Yes this was the one, that was a while back so hopefully the issues have been sorted out by now....

Wasn't it the coupler that didn't fit rather than the box?

thought the issue was the coupler

can''t see the article cos i'm at work

there is another company "bergman" that has produced a coupler that is bolt in that fits the steering shaft and has the correct worm screw spline for the box

other issue is getting the correct box for the pitman arm you want to use

2 sizes

Hi Dave

Dunno if you've managed to see the Mopar Muscle article yet but the coupler used in that article is the same Bergman kit as used in your 'Street legal TV' article

cool

sounds like they purchased the full deal

i could rember Borg and berg so had to look up berg?? coupler mopar delphi borgeson to find the bergman name from something i read

seemingly if you just get the box from Borgeson
you get a weld or bolt on steering joint with no slip (supposedly = busted circlip at the top of the column or broken steering collapse in an accident plastic thingys due to car chassis flex, both things i don't have to worry about cos mine uses a rubber impregnated cloth disk and 2 bolts !!!! )

none of the power steering pipes bolt up etc

modern box is metric mopar orginal at pump is not or something like that

sounds like you buy the kit and those problems are sorted for you

still...modern materials manufactureing and tolerances is gonna be the way to go... basically a Jeep style box i think (maybe goes the oposite way, passenger car rather than Cab-over/truck)
