Stondon Motor Museum Closing - All going to auction.

Post by MattH »

In Bedfordshire, an odd but interesting collection of nearly 400 vehicles, bikes and cars, buses, trucks, SAM missile carrier.

Its £7.50 to get in as an adult.
They shut on 6th April and the entire stock is going to auction.

There is alot of British grey porridge, but also some odd 70s and 80s stuff, and a lovely Carlton GSi 3000 12v.

For Demon James there is a 7000 mile from new, one owner Yugo.

Worth a look round before it all gets split up and sold off.
Only Mopars are a 40s Dodge 4 door saloon, and a 1930's Chrysler, Hillman Imp, Rapier fastback and a Hunter.
Also a P6 estate, V8 pilot woody, Metro prototypes(!),

Used to go there regularly years ago, (just did the math an realised it was 20 years since I last went), probably not what you'd call a regular supporter..

I do remember it being a real quirky museum with cars scattered everywhere a lot of them in poly tunnels

Yep, that's it, basically garden centre poly covered greenhouses, lots of chipboard walls, but still an interesting place. I will post some pics from yesterday when I get a moment.

is there a link to the article? Would like to know what sold and for what. Saw one of the fire engines on a flatbed Wednesday, on its way to a new owner.
