Fuel lines

Guys I'm trying to get my head around how to run me fuel lines from tank to mech pump on the block.

I've got 2 lines. Fuel feed and vent line to the charcoal canister in the engine bay.

I believe the lines are both 5/16 (8mm).

I want to run braided r9 type lines.......
How would you guys run the transition to fuel tank and fuel pump.
Put on AN fittings at either end of the braided and run small rubber lines with clamps to destination?

My main concern is how to route them though.........

Inside or outside of the main chassis rail?
Inside and its heat source by the exhaust. Outside and it's in the line of fire from road debris of the tyres.........I'd say inside is the lesser evil?

The stock system runs all over the place over and through the rails. Not sure I want to drill through the cross rails, but also not sure running underneath them ( would be a low point and has potential for damage and fuel leak)!

How to mount them too.......P clamps?

So err......help?

Would be interested to see what you guys have done and how you've run the lines? Any do's and don'ts?

Sorry if I'm missing something Dave , but what's wrong with the stock set up as it is ?

the way the factory did it aint a bad thing, outside the chassis rail is better as away from exhaust, just try and avoid wheres there heat, a.n on to the pump aint a bad thing, on the other hand if it was mine there wouldnt be a rubber join under the bonnet and as you alrerady know stay from them poksi plastic filters

Sorry should have said........MOT advisory for corroded fuel lines.

The car lives in the garage next to the boiler........don't need that!

New Fuel tanks all finished and have new sender, so would be nice to know that it's all new upto the engine block!

No plastic filters left mate.......all binned and now metal ones in place.

When you say no rubber...........do you mean fully braided or?

yeh mines fully braided,but then i have a lot more heat than you will, also after an engine fire on my old cop car yrs back i,m always a bit ott with fuel lines, cant stand rubber lines right next to distributor and coils
