Had this prob for 18 months and not sussed it (and passed tough mot)
When turned right from dead straight their is a nasty growling'rubbing sound from the suspension/steering. It happens at any speed. Long fast bends or roundabouts or even crawling.
The steering works perfectly and i can find no sign of metal on metal rubbing.
If the steering worm was knackered what feedback would it give me? Really would like to get to the bottom of this.
Power steering growl!

I had exactly the same problem in my Humber Imperial (well? it is a Mopar of sorts!) anyway, this may sound strange, but I jacked the front wheels off the ground and with the engine running turned the wheel from lock to lock and got exactly the same noise.
Drained the fluid completely, filled up with fresh, turned the wheel lock to lock a few times and never heard it again...now let's hear Alex explain that one!
...it maybe worth a try
