69 Roadrunner bottom door hinge

Post by Ashy22 »

Hi Guys,

My 69 Roadrunner has some play in the bottom hinge, so much that it doesn't line up square when shut and the top of the window surround catches slightly when i shut the door.

What's the best fix for this? Replace the hinge pin? Easy job?

I will post some pictures tomorrow to try to show what I mean.

Cheers

You can buy a hinge pin kit. You have to drill the holes in the hinge out and press in new bushes and then fit the new pin.
The reason is, the hinge itself wears as well as the pin so you can't just fit a new pin.

Thanks Mick.

I will try to find a hinge kit for sale.

I will try RockAuto

Found 2 kits. Not sure which one I need so I ordered both.

The whole lot including shipping only came to £11 odd. - result!

Cheers
