Voyager as a tow car??

Post by MattH »

Has anyone had experience of using a Chrysler Grand Voyager as a tow car?

With the possible demise of the Holden I have bought a tow bar for the 97 Grand Voyager (3.3 petrol auto) to try and lug the caravan around.

I just wondered if anyone has towed with one and if it will be like Disney Space Mountain?

Bob Brown tows his Daytona behind a diesel one of a similar vintage, and that must weigh more than my caravan.

Clearly I would love to just go and choose the ultimate tow car, but that isnt realistic, I need to work with what I have.

But i do have a hankering for a Subaru Outback. Is that wrong? :help:

If it's any help Matt, I once towed your Challenger from Kent to Peterborough on a trailer behind a Fiesta van so anything is possible!
A quick Google says that the tow capacity for your Voyager is 1600kg
You can't have too much power, only a lack of traction!

Thats pretty good then, caravan is about 1300kg. Thanks Rob

I suspect using a Fiesta van was clenched buttocks the whole way!

Only when I went over 40 mph!
