Thanx for the nice comments guys.
Factory originalish, as its such a rare car, but will hope to run on the track too!
Greengo/Sassy-grass was slightly better option for 1971 than the browny/green metallic she came with.(as per piccy)
Original engine was rebuilt in Canada before she was shipped over.
Budget resto was done in the 80's but body and frame was badly rotted by many years of Canadian-SALT!
Up until recently there were very few body panels made for 71's.
So I had to use alot of Califorinian metal from donor cars.
I think six different cars gave up their metally bits to save one GTX!!!
Hope I can get her done before Shakey closes...

ps air grabber and hemi are long gone...
Elastomeric front bumpers are super-rare!
Totally different to the standard chrome/painted ones.

GY9 Dark gold mettalic, my Dart was originally that colour, I like it a lot.Bryan wrote:Too right, that looks cool in that colour and something a little different.RobTwin wrote:I really like that yukky green/brown!
Raised white letter tyres have come full circle they are retro cool these days.

Hi Folks,
The more I look at the GY9 cars, the more I think mmmaybe I'm liking it too now!
My good friend Leon had the exact same Gtx as mine in LA.
It was a massive feature car in the 90's-00's...
Then another LA friend got an original Grengo Gtx and my mind was swayed!
My Gtx was Yellow when I got her and Black before that, with many many layers of paint and bad-repairs.( Thats how it was done in the 80's I suppose)?
She was a true Basket-Case and was destined for the great scrap-pile of Canadian TIN!
After several crazy repair and repaint prices for the resto I decided to rent a Unit and do it all myself.
That meant no metallic diy repaint, so it was a solid colour only.
So just before the Two pack AIRDRY paints were Outlawed I went and bought 5 litres of Lechler super smelly TOXIC Greengo.
Its a custom mix and not Kawasaki green as most peeps think.
What its cost in rent and time and grief, I should have given the Gtx to JC!
I think it would have worked out cheaper LOL...
Its only paint and it can be done again, just not by me...
